About The Position

The VP of Sales is responsible for the strategy and growth of a leading color cosmetic contract manufacturer, driving new business development and go-to-market execution in the beauty industry. The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to scale contract manufacturing from concept to multi-million-dollar success across retail, e-commerce, and DTC channels (Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, Target, Wal-Mart). Expertise in product lifecycle management, creative direction, cross-functional leadership, and launching innovations in fast-paced markets is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in cosmetics OEM/ODM or contract manufacturing
  • Proven track record of building and scaling multi-million-dollar B2B accounts
  • Strong understanding of private label, formulation, packaging, and product lifecycle
  • Experience working with major retailers and e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, Target, Walmart)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client relationship skills

  • Experience supporting indie brands and emerging beauty startups
  • Strong knowledge of beauty trends, innovation pipelines, and product development cycles
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in cosmetics manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Provides business development and retail strategy including advertising campaigns, marketing communications, and digital/social media.
  • Negotiates new business partnerships.
  • Develops and manages annual multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Develops PR strategy for launching new business partnerships.
  • Develops strategy to scale new business for contract manufacturing.
  • Sets goals for the business development team and develops strategies to meet those goals.
  • Tracks KPIs and ROI to adjust strategy in rapidly changing cosmetic markets.
  • Leads sales and marketing team to create company growth.
  • Creates and manages the sales team’s annual communication plan and budget.
  • Conducts group and individual sales presentations at corporate offices and tradeshows including Makeup LA & New York, HBA, Cosmoprof, and AAD Shows.
  • Leads team to conduct sales and market analysis and monthly product sales.
  • Recognizes new market opportunities and conceptualizes innovative formulas that are true to specific brand identities.
  • Demonstrates expertise with contract clients looking to build their branded portfolio.
  • Manages cross-functional teams across R&D, operations, packaging, and quality to bring products from concept to shelf while managing cost, timelines, and scale.
  • Creates and executes highly effective global marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and result in sustainable growth and increased revenue.
  • Utilizes superior market research and analytical skills to identify consumer trends.
  • Cultivates client relationships, identifies opportunities, and delivers results that create long-term value.
  • Bridges innovation, operations, and client goals to achieve shared success.
