The Market Sales VP will be responsible for executing local market-specific sales strategies, driving profitable sales in collaboration with the Retail sales team and Business Unit, and managing local market DSD sales activities. They will also maintain relationships with Independent Distributor Partners (IDPs) and key customer accounts, coach and train ASDs, and report market insights to the Regional Sales VP.

Responsibilities

  • Executing sales strategies based on guidance from VP of Regional Sales and VP of Division Sales
  • Working cross-functionally with bakeries on product quality, delivery dispatch, and other sales-impacting issues
  • Partnering with ASDs to execute local sales plans and pursue profitable new business to achieve goals
  • Maintaining close contact with VP of Regional Sales and providing updates on performance results and competitor activity
  • Analyzing reports from digital sales teams, distributor enablement, revenue growth management, and utilizing the Customer Product Profitability (CPP) dashboard to grow profitable sales
  • Ensuring ASDs adhere to daily fundamentals (displays, customer relations, time schedule, callbacks, space, position, and distribution)
  • Assisting ASDs in selling and general/IDP relationship efforts, and providing industry best practices advice
  • Responsible for usage of digital products and the Go Spot Check (GSC) tool for daily and focused missions
  • Monitoring units and dollar sales, profit margin, and stale using the GSC tool to drive business conversations with IDPs and customer accounts
  • Providing ASDs with guidance, direction, and assistance to achieve profit goals and ensure compliance with policies and procedures (customer service, equipment, vehicle, warehouse, recruitment, retention, orientation, training, discipline, safety, record keeping, EEO, HR-related areas)
  • Conducting weekly meetings with ASDs to discuss performance against perfect store execution
  • Coaching and mentoring ASDs in understanding and using available information, including professional presentation of information to customers and employees
  • Interacting with and visiting key customer accounts to build rapport and increase selling opportunities
  • Maintaining close contact with other Market Sales VPs and the Retail Team to stay informed on cross-regional activity and share key successes
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, Mandatory Training)
  • Performing other duties integral to the position, including using digital tools, dashboard reports, fulfilling work schedules, adhering to attendance policies, and other operating rules
  • Partnering with the Human Resources Department to develop a succession plan, employee development, employee engagement, and retention.
