About the position
EvolutionIQ is seeking an experienced engineering leader to join their team and help build and scale their AI platform in the insurance industry. The successful candidate will have a track record of building engineering teams from scratch and will be comfortable managing both individual contributors and other managers. They will be responsible for setting up processes and systems to support the team's success and will act as a strategic technical partner to the business. The main goals of this role include building the team and product in a new problem domain, achieving product-market fit, actively contributing to the strategic roadmap, and establishing a reliable product delivery infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale the team and product in a new problem domain for the company
- Partner with business counterparts to iterate and achieve product-market fit
- Actively participate in hiring, growing, and developing the Engineering team
- Set up a reliable continuous product delivery infrastructure and processes with a high focus on quality
- Contribute to the medium/long-term strategic roadmap for the organization
- Prioritize and manage tasks and projects effectively
- Design interview processes and hire and manage data software engineers with cross-functional skills
- Hire, manage, and grow other Engineering leaders and Managers
- Demonstrate strong system and architecture design skills
- Communicate effectively through written and verbal communication
- Display extreme creativity and resourcefulness in solving previously unsolved problems
- Deploy systems on GCP or AWS
- Take initiative and be self-motivated
- Hold oneself to extremely high standards
Requirements
- Experienced engineering leader with a track record of building engineering teams from the ground up
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by new problem spaces
- Able to manage individual contributors and other managers
- Interface directly with individual contributors and act as a strategic technical partner to business counterparts
- Build the team and product in a new problem domain
- Partner with business counterparts to iterate and achieve product-market fit
- Actively participate in hiring, growing, and developing the Engineering team
- Setup a reliable continuous product delivery infrastructure and processes with a focus on quality
- Contribute to medium/long term strategic roadmap for the organization
- Prior experience working in fast-paced organizations
- Prior experience working in building 0 -> 1 products
- Designed interview processes, hired and managed data software engineers with cross-functional skills
- Hired, managed, and grown other Engineering leaders and Managers
- Strong system and architecture design skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extreme creativity and resourcefulness, appetite to solve previously unsolved problems
- Experience in deploying systems on GCP or AWS
- Extreme self-starter and self-motivator
- Holds self to extremely high standards
