About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a VP, Market Strategy & Ecosystem for Tableau to shape go-to-market strategy, build and deepen the partner ecosystem, and translate market intelligence into revenue-generating growth initiatives. This role is crucial for advancing Tableau's mission to help people see and understand their data, aligning with Salesforce's broader platform vision and the future of AI in customer success.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in market strategy, partnerships, business development, or ecosystem management in enterprise software or data/analytics.
  • Deep knowledge of the business intelligence, analytics, or data management landscape.
  • Proven ability to build and activate partner ecosystems that drive measurable revenue impact.
  • Experience working within or alongside a large platform company (Salesforce experience a plus).
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across a matrixed organization.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using market research and competitive intelligence to shape strategy.
  • Passion for data, analytics, and the power of visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead Tableau's market strategy across key verticals, customer segments, and geographies in alignment with Salesforce's broader platform vision.
  • Build and scale the Tableau partner ecosystem, including ISVs, SIs, OEM partners, cloud marketplace alliances (AWS, Azure, GCP), and Salesforce AppExchange partners.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities in the analytics and BI market by monitoring competitive dynamics (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Qlik) and emerging trends (AI-driven analytics, data literacy).
  • Drive co-sell, co-marketing, and embedded analytics motions with Salesforce and key technology partners.
  • Represent Tableau externally as a thought leader at industry events (e.g., Tableau Conference, Dreamforce, Gartner Data & Analytics Summit) and with analysts (Gartner, Forrester).
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Salesforce Platform teams to build pipeline and accelerate customer adoption.
  • Establish and track KPIs for ecosystem health, partner-sourced revenue, and market penetration.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of strategy and ecosystem managers.
  • Present strategy and results to C-suite and Salesforce executive stakeholders.
