About The Position

BTG Pactual is seeking a Vice President / Junior Director to join its Loan Syndication & Sales team in New York. The role supports distribution of structured USD-denominated loan transactions originated in Latin America and Europe to the broadly syndicated loan market, particularly private direct lenders and institutional investors. The successful candidate will bring strong sales and distribution capabilities, an established investor network, and the technical ability to understand and position complex credit opportunities across jurisdictions, sectors, and structures. This is a high-impact front-office role focused on expanding BTG Pactual’s presence in the international syndicated loan market. It provides direct exposure to complex cross-border financings, senior internal stakeholders, and institutional investors across U.S. and global credit markets.

Requirements

7–10 years of experience in loan syndication, leveraged finance sales, private credit distribution, or institutional credit marketing.
A proven track record distributing and selling loan transactions to sophisticated institutional investors, particularly private direct lenders and credit funds.
Ability to understand and articulate complex credit structures, including jurisdictional risks, documentation nuances, and Latin America-specific cross-border considerations.
An established network across U.S.-based private credit funds, institutional investors, and loan market participants interested in Latin American opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to generate investor interest and build credibility around non-U.S. credit stories.
Strong commercial instincts, negotiation skills, and investor-facing communication abilities.
High autonomy and execution capability in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Strong knowledge of institutional loan investors, private credit markets, and syndicated loan distribution.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work across cross-border transactions and multicultural teams.
Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

Experience at a leading global bank, investment bank, private credit platform, or alternative asset manager, ideally with exposure to Latin American credit.
Advanced degree.
Existing relationships that can add immediate value to BTG Pactual’s Latin American syndication and distribution platform.
Track record marketing complex or non-plain-vanilla credits, particularly in emerging markets.
Familiarity with Latin American corporate credit, regulatory environments, and market dynamics in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Argentina.
Experience working with European investors or credits.
Strong judgment in balancing commercial objectives with risk and reputational considerations.

Responsibilities

Lead marketing and distribution of structured USD-denominated loan transactions from Latin American and European companies to the broadly syndicated loan investor universe.
Drive investor dialogue and transaction messaging for Latin American corporate credits, including leveraged loans, acquisition financing, Holdco structures, and event-driven financings.
Build and execute tailored syndication strategies for each transaction, including investor targeting, order book development, feedback gathering, and pricing optimization.
Serve as a commercial and technical interface between Latin American origination and structuring teams and U.S.-based investors.
Expand BTG Pactual’s distribution footprint among U.S. private direct lenders, institutional credit funds, and loan market participants interested in Latin American exposure.
Maintain coverage of key investors active in emerging markets credit, cross-border lending, and special situations.
Monitor market conditions, investor sentiment, and relative value dynamics in Latin American syndicated loans and private credit.
Partner with internal teams in São Paulo and New York to coordinate execution.
Support the structuring and positioning of complex cross-border transactions, including multi-jurisdictional credits, project-related financings, and bespoke credit solutions.
Contribute to developing BTG Pactual’s Latin America-focused syndication platform in the U.S. market.
