About The Position

DFCU Financial is seeking a VP, Commercial Loan Officer in the Longwood / Winter Park / Orlando, Florida area. The position proactively seeks new deposits and loans, builds client relationships, and manages an existing portfolio, including annual reviews, past-due accounts, and client retention. The role calls for excellent communication, analytical skills, and customer relations. The officer develops new business banking relationships and commercial client portfolios, offers tailored financial guidance and lending solutions, and connects clients with lending, deposits, Treasury Management, and SBA programs. The role also involves credit analysis and underwriting, monitoring portfolio risks and renewal timelines, collaborating with internal teams, representing DFCU in the community, and ensuring compliance with policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
Seven years of lending or sales experience in the financial services industry.
Three to five years of commercial lending and credit underwriting experience.
Demonstrated high performance in sales goal attainment.
Demonstrated community involvement.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to initiate and embrace change.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business banking relationships, focusing on deposit and lending growth.
Grow and manage a portfolio of commercial clients, providing tailored financial guidance and lending solutions.
Connect clients with lending, deposit, Treasury Management, and SBA services.
Build partnerships with business owners, centers of influence, and professional networks to generate referrals.
Represent DFCU in the community and support local businesses.
Analyze and underwrite credit requests in accordance with DFCU policies and risk appetite.
Monitor loan covenants, past-due accounts, and renewal timelines to support portfolio health and mitigate risk.
Collaborate with Business Banking Assistants and Loan Documentation teams to streamline processing and client service.
Work with Retail, Treasury, and Lending teams on joint calling efforts and holistic financial solutions.
Prepare call plans and post-call reviews that turn client goals into actionable next steps.
Stay informed about market trends, industry shifts, and client opportunities.
Comply with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements.
Complete required professional development and compliance training.
