About The Position

VSC Fire & Security is seeking a VP / Integrated Systems Division Manager in Baltimore, Maryland. The company provides fire protection, life safety, and security solutions, including fire suppression and detection systems, sprinklers, alarms, and security systems. The role oversees the Integrated Systems Division, including operational performance, job costs and profitability, employee productivity and development, customer relationships, sales follow-up, proposals, and safety. The position involves coordination with department managers, supervisors, employees, sales executives, clients, vendors, and authorities having jurisdiction. It requires site visits and may involve inspecting work using ladders, lifts, or scaffolding and entering confined spaces, attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in management, P&L management, inventory, budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiation.
Conflict-resolution, organizational, and analytical skills.
Industry-related work experience or experience in a related field, including prior management experience.
Ability to interact and communicate positively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Advanced knowledge of building-code requirements for the fire protection industry.
Ability to negotiate pricing and discounts with local vendors.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and job-specific specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Mobility for in-person client visits.
Ability to use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding when necessary and to enter confined spaces, attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
Visual acuity for reading documents, meters, and drawings; a clear speaking voice for phone interaction; auditory acuity for face-to-face interaction; and digital dexterity for PC use.
Valid driver’s license for use of a company vehicle.
Must pass a drug test and security screening as needed.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
NICET III or IV certification.

Responsibilities

Work with department managers to plan and monitor job costs and profitability of contracted work to meet department goals.
Monitor the activity, productivity, and accuracy of supervisors and employees.
Assist with in-service training for staff and support training and testing for staff certifications.
Evaluate direct reports’ progress, discuss their strengths and weaknesses, and support their professional growth and goals.
Review and reinforce standard operating procedures and address workplace behaviors that raise liability risks.
Work with clients to handle disagreements about scope, on-site conditions, or other dissatisfaction tactfully and with patience and integrity.
Visit customer sites as necessary to check work progress and fulfillment of contractual commitments.
Train, coach, and assist in developing employees.
Meet with current clients to maintain business relationships and promote new business through value-added offerings.
Ensure sales follow-up on leads, cultivate new contacts, implement marketing strategies, and expand related services and offerings.
Assist sales executives in preparing proposals and estimates for new and established customers.
Ensure site-specific and company safety standards are followed.
