VP, Enterprise Risk & Compliance

CoreWeaveSunnyvale, CA
$350,000 - $375,000Onsite

About The Position

This opportunity is to own and shape the Global ERM and Compliance function at one of the fastest-growing companies in the AI infrastructure space. The Vice President of Enterprise Risk and Compliance will be the founding owner of this program and will build and deploy the frameworks, governance structures, and processes that enable CoreWeave to proactively manage risk at scale and centrally coordinate compliance management. This role will sit within the Finance team.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise risk management or a closely related function
  • Prior experience in a VP or equivalent enterprise risk leadership role
  • Demonstrated track record of building ERM programs from inception, not just inheriting mature programs
  • Experience at high-growth technology or cloud infrastructure companies strongly preferred, especially companies that have: large balance sheet exposures including inventory / fixed assets and debt, notable international presence, and complex arrangements with customer / vendors / joint venture partners
  • Strong executive presence with demonstrated experience presenting to boards, audit committees, and C-suite leadership
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building process in fast-moving environments
  • You love to build enterprise risk and compliance programs from the ground up, creating the structure, governance, and operating rhythms that help a fast-growing company scale responsibly.
  • You’re curious about how technology, operational complexity, and global growth create new risks—and how data, technology, and cross-functional partnership can improve risk visibility and decision-making.
  • You’re an expert at translating executive and Board priorities into practical risk appetite, meaningful KRIs, clear accountability, and action-oriented reporting.
  • You thrive in ambiguity and know how to bring clarity, influence, and momentum across Finance, Security, Legal, IT, and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the Enterprise Risk team, including hiring, developing, and managing a lean team of risk professionals as the function scales
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Board and Audit Committee on enterprise risk matters
  • Build and operationalize the Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA) process, including risk identification, assessment, prioritization, and a centralized risk register
  • Design and implement a Key Risk Indicator (KRI) framework to enable proactive risk monitoring and escalation
  • Develop the enterprise risk appetite and tolerance framework, translating leadership risk vision into documented, actionable thresholds
  • Design and facilitate risk management programs, from executive Risk Council to Risk Champion network
  • Centralize coordination of risk assurance activities across functions including Security, Legal, Finance, and Operations, with a view to establishing a three-lines-of-defense model
  • Partner with IT and business leaders to enable technology-driven risk monitoring and reporting
  • Own the day-to-day interface between ERM and second-line functions such as Security Risk Management, setting escalation triggers, clarifying ownership, and running regular reporting handoffs
  • Maintain a centralized inventory of compliance requirements and obligations across functions (including certifications, regulatory commitments, and audit findings), serving as a control tower for enterprise-wide visibility and status tracking
