VP of Risk & Compliance
About The Position
Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union is seeking a VP of Risk and Compliance to lead the strategy and oversight of compliance, risk management, and internal audit, and to serve as the credit union’s BSA Officer. The role administers the BSA/FRAML/OFAC Program and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal banking regulations. The VP partners with senior management to assess, identify, mitigate, and monitor key organizational risks. Areas include enterprise risk management (ERM), vendor risk management, insurance administration, regulatory analysis, project proposals, and board reporting. The role is designated as essential personnel and may require responding outside normal business hours during emergency or crisis situations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
- A college degree.
- Lead with integrity and sound judgment, including when weighing risk and opportunity in uncertain situations.
- Strategic and analytical thinking, including the ability to identify trends and weaknesses in data and processes.
- Ability to speak up with courage and tact and remain composed during examinations and audits.

Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance, risk management, and internal audit.
- Serve as the credit union’s BSA Officer.
- Administer the BSA/FRAML/OFAC Program.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal banking regulations.
- Partner with senior management to assess, identify, mitigate, and monitor the credit union’s key risks.
- Oversee or address enterprise risk management, vendor risk management, insurance administration, regulatory analysis, project proposals, and board reporting.
- Respond as needed during emergency or crisis situations to support organizational operations and perform assigned emergency-response duties.
