About The Position

The Vice President Construction is responsible for negotiating, awarding, and implementing construction contracts for new and existing facility construction projects. This role coordinates with prevailing governmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and is responsible for all new construction and large projects in existing facilities. This includes construction management, purchase of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment, and overseeing budgets, costing, and schedules. This is a key level license position.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field AND three (3) years’ experience in a Director level position OR Seven (7) years’ experience in a Director level position OR Five (5) years’ experience in a Management position within any Resorts World Property.
  • Ten (10) years’ of related construction work experience required.
  • Project management, including all elements of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, resources and communications (5-10 years).
  • Proficient in Procore Software.
  • Self-starter, able to work in a fast-pace environment in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral, written, and via emails.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes, making necessary changes, using input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding expectations.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.

  • Ability to create, read and analyze spreadsheets of statistical data.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request.
  • Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Employees must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • This position will require a key license.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating, awarding, and implementing construction contracts for new and existing facility construction projects.
  • Coordinating with prevailing governmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Overseeing all new construction and large projects in existing facilities, including construction management, purchase of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Overseeing budgets, costing, and schedules.
  • Estimating and preparation of budgets.
  • Supervising the overall construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors, design professionals, and local building officials.
  • Maintaining detailed, concise daily project records and documentation.
  • Holding vendors and contractors accountable for quality, completeness, and timely work by inspecting the property regularly.
  • Identifying and documenting all change orders.
  • Monitoring cost reporting to assure estimates are met.
  • Establishing, directing, and/or documenting project meetings.
  • Reviewing final vendor invoices to ensure accurate billing and that all work is completed, approving invoices and submitting them to finance for payment.
  • Obtaining necessary bid documents, creating plan matrix, contacting subcontractors, and bidding projects with purchasing.
  • Coordinating and directing internal resources (Project Managers, etc.) as required.
  • Communicating with management and superintendent daily regarding schedule, changes, options, potential problems/solutions.
  • Adjusting budgets, approving bills, ensuring subcontractor payments are made, and conducting site visits.
  • Supervising estimating, Project Managers, and all pre-construction activity.
  • Managing the project close-out process to a successful completion.
  • Performing other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
