Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, community development, nonprofit leadership, finance, public administration, or a related field required.
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in financial services, community engagement, business development, financial wellness, nonprofit partnerships, public relations, or related leadership roles.
  • At least 2-3 years of leadership experience with demonstrated success leading teams, programs, partnerships, or enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success developing partnerships with community organizations, employer groups, Select Employee Groups, schools, colleges, nonprofits, veteran organizations, underserved populations, chambers of commerce, or civic leaders.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
  • In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in a credit union, community financial institution, WealthTrek-style financial wellness center, or purpose-driven financial services environment strongly preferred.
  • Financial education, coaching, or community development certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Hanscom FCU's community impact strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, financial wellness priorities, WealthTrek expansion, LIFE programming, member growth, and brand awareness initiatives.
  • Build, maintain, and expand strategic partnerships with community organizations, Select Employee Groups (SEGs), employers, schools, colleges, nonprofits, municipalities, veteran-focused organizations, chambers of commerce, and civic leaders.
  • Serve as a senior ambassador of Hanscom FCU at community events, partner meetings, speaking engagements, chamber activities, financial education programs, and employer-based wellness opportunities.
  • Lead the growth and execution of LIFE programming by expanding access to financial wellness coaching, educational resources, and WealthTrek experiences.
  • Partner with WealthTrek teams to create engaging community experiences utilizing coaching, workshops, gamification, and group learning opportunities.
  • Design and execute community engagement programs that deliver financial education, coaching, workshops, outreach events, and tailored financial wellness solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Financial Wellness, WealthTrek, Marketing, Retail, Lending, Business Development, Learning & Development, and Member Experience teams to support community and member impact initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase membership growth, deepen member relationships, expand partner referrals, and strengthen financial wellness engagement.
  • Develop measurable goals, dashboards, and reporting practices to track community engagement, partnership activity, WealthTrek participation, coaching outcomes, member conversion, and overall program impact.
  • Utilize data, community insights, partner feedback, and member outcomes to continuously evaluate program effectiveness and enhance outreach strategies.
  • Support internal culture-building efforts by promoting Hanscom FCU's financial wellness mission and helping employees understand their role in advancing member and community financial well-being.
  • Manage budgets, sponsorships, events, community investments, and partnership development activities associated with community impact and financial wellness initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to team members and stakeholders involved in community outreach, partnership development, and financial wellness programs.
  • Represent Hanscom FCU's values through integrity, teamwork, innovation, inclusivity, and a strong commitment to serving diverse communities.
