VP Cloud & Infrastructure Modernization

University of Vermont Health NetworkSouth Burlington, VT

About The Position

This role exists to modernize the Health System out of a legacy, capital-intensive, on-premises operating model and into a resilient, consumption-based infrastructure that can be recovered in hours rather than weeks. The VP Cloud and Infrastructure Modernization owns the physical and virtual foundation on which every clinical and business application runs: compute, storage, network, connectivity, communications, identity, endpoint, and the Microsoft enterprise estate. The incumbent is accountable for consolidating a fragmented seven-data-center footprint, establishing a cloud-first landing zone, rebuilding recovery capability against a revenue exposure measured in millions of dollars per day, and delivering reliable connectivity across a geographically dispersed, rural-serving network. This is a modernization and reliability role, not a caretaker role. The incumbent is measured on infrastructure retired, recovery time reduced, unit cost lowered, and downtime eliminated, not on systems maintained.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive technology leadership.
  • At least five (5) years leading infrastructure, cloud, or network organizations at scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a technical or business discipline.
