About The Position

The Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator leads and oversees volunteer and community engagement programming, ensuring the consistent, effective, and mission-aligned involvement of volunteers and community partners in refugee resettlement services. This position is responsible for volunteer recruitment, training, program coordination, and data tracking, as well as the ongoing support and engagement of volunteers, interns, and service learners. The coordinator manages cultural mentoring and co-sponsorship programming, ensuring appropriate matching, communication, and alignment with client needs and program goals. The role also plans and executes community events and outreach strategies that increase awareness and participation in resettlement efforts. Additionally, the Coordinator builds and maintains strong relationships with community organizations, faith-based groups, and internal staff to enhance collaboration and expand program impact.

  • Ability to foster inclusive environments that support refugee and immigrant communities.

  • Ability to manage multiple program components simultaneously.
  • Skilled in coordinating logistics, tracking participation, and ensuring program goals are met.
  • Experience planning and executing events of varying scale.
  • Ability to manage details, coordinate stakeholders, and create meaningful engagement opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal staff, external partners, and institutions.
  • Skilled in navigating competing needs, addressing challenges, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using databases or tracking systems, maintaining accurate records, and producing clear written communication.

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000.
  • Frequent regional travel.
  • May be required to transport clients in personal vehicle.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and two years related experience preferred; Candidates with two to four years of transferable work/volunteer experience may be considered.
