About The Position

The Visual Lead is responsible for achieving store sales and maximizing profitability through visual merchandising in partnership with the Management Team. The role works closely with Operations and Visual Managers to initiate and delegate work and provide feedback, supporting optimal results and total store operations. Duties involve constant movement throughout the store, including the sales floor and back of house. When not assisting guests, the Visual Lead takes initiative to help keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and efficient. As a visual leader, this role oversees operational functions such as shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery and replenishment, floor-set updates, and supply management. The Visual Lead maintains strategic product presentation and merchandising, plans floor changes with management, and executes visual direction to company expectations, budgets, and timelines. The role uses reporting tools to identify opportunities in product placement, outfitting, and stock levels. As a business and people leader, the Visual Lead partners with Operations and Visual Managers on reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities. The role leverages business metrics, leads by example, supports associate coaching and development, and uses performance tools to provide feedback. The Visual Lead also collaborates with other leads on cross-functional training and operational initiatives, executes company directives and projects, and opens and closes the store according to visual standards. Full-time employees are expected to be available for opening, closing, and weekend shifts, and to work from the week including Black Friday through the first week of January. The position is based at the Mall at Short Hills in Short Hills, New Jersey. The stated base pay range is $19.00–$23.00 per hour; Leads may also participate in the monthly store incentive bonus program.

Requirements

At least 2 years of prior work experience in a client-centric sales environment.
Proven leadership capabilities and excellent decision-making.

Self-motivated, with a desire to achieve results and excel individually and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Requires constant movement throughout all areas of the store.
Ability to lift, push, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and/or twist, and safely climb up and down a ladder.
Ability to stand and move for an entire shift.
Full-time employees are expected to be available for opening, closing, and weekend shifts, which may be subject to change.
Employees are expected to be able to work from the week including Black Friday through the first week of January.

Responsibilities

Manage operational functions including shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery, intra-day replenishment, floor-set updates, and supply management.
Maintain strategic product presentation and merchandising through recovery, restocking, destocking, and visual merchandising changes in accordance with directives and in partnership with the Visual Manager.
Plan visual floor changes with the management team, managing payroll and adapting zones and visual support to business needs.
Execute and maintain visual direction from planning through execution, meeting company expectations, budgets, and timelines.
Use reporting tools with management to identify and address business opportunities in product placement, outfitting, and stock levels.
Partner with Operations and Visual Managers on reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities.
Use business metrics to support strategies that drive business results.
Assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests while moving dynamically on the retail floor.
Lead by example and inspire staff in daily operations, guest experience, and visual standards.
Partner with management to coach, guide, and direct associates; support recruitment and talent development.
Use company performance tools to evaluate associates and provide ongoing feedback in partnership with the store leader.
Collaborate with the Operations Lead on cross-functional training and with the Sales & Service Lead to support business execution.
Execute company-level operations directives, projects, and initiatives in partnership with the leadership team to achieve goals and KPIs.
Open and close the store in accordance with visual standards.
Perform tasks as needed to keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and operating efficiently.
