About The Position

The Visual Information Specialist designs, develops, and produces visual and multimedia content for company or client communications, advertising, and promotional materials. Work includes literature, print, multimedia, social media, web applications, presentations, and video. The role involves planning and preparing audio, video, and visual artwork, as well as developing new design concepts. This is an onsite position in McLean and requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The specialist produces broadcast-quality audio and video materials, acquires and edits digital images, prepares and edits multimedia products, and maintains an audio and video library. The position also includes software development and integration responsibilities, such as building or enhancing products, addressing system compatibility issues, gathering application requirements, and evaluating potential projects and tools.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Ability to understand and apply layout and design principles for photographic projects using industry-standard software, with emphasis on Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium software and hardware for layout, editing, and final multimedia production.
Knowledge of end-to-end production of professional video and audio materials, including conception, design, execution, finishing/editing, and distribution/publishing.
Knowledge of copyright laws applicable to visual information production.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of other desktop publishing software, such as Corel Ventura or Talisma Knowledgebase.
Working knowledge of other graphics or photo imaging software, such as CorelDraw Graphics Suite or Corel Paint Shop.

Responsibilities

Research, acquire, edit, and produce commercial broadcast-quality video and audio informational materials for web and traditional media.
Identify and select newsworthy events, and produce radio, television, and documentary scripts, narrations, public service announcements, and spot announcements.
Acquire and edit still digital images and create photo stories and multi-page documents using advanced layout and design techniques, including vector, raster, and desktop publishing.
Prepare sets by positioning lights, cameras, sound equipment, properties, and personnel, and ensure audio and video effects are used effectively.
Edit final video products, whether shot in sequence or out of sequence, to ensure continuity and effective action, dialogue, or narration using industry-standard digital editing.
Edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, including color grading, graphics, and audio editing, and master audio with Adobe Audition.
Maintain productive working relationships with staff in other communications functions.
Assist in developing and producing content for new and emerging communication channels, including blogs, audio, video, and online publications.
Select associated visual materials as needed and available.
Maintain the organization's library of audio and video products.
Design, develop, debug, and implement new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion or integration of products based on user requirements.
Address system integration, compatibility, and multi-platform issues.
Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
Perform feasibility analyses for potential future projects.
Assist in evaluating and recommending application software packages and application integration and testing tools.
