About The Position

This is a temporary/seasonal position with a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, typically Tuesday-Friday. Additional hours may be required for programs and special events. The role involves providing visitor services at the front desk, including welcoming guests, handling admissions, tracking demographic data, and communicating information about the museum and its programs. The position supports all aspects of visitor services operations, guest admission and information, program assistance, and assisting with special events such as setup and breakdown.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in visitor or guest service or education (preferably in a museum setting) required.
  • Computer skills are essential.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to the ticketing and customer relationship software.
  • Parts of the position require some physical labor, such as moving brochure boxes, chairs, tables, etc.
  • The employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in English, both in person and over the telephone, and through email and other electronic means; to move about the work area, between buildings, and across the exterior museum grounds; to handle various types of media and equipment; and to visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
