About The Position

The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a visiting professorship (rank open) in Constitutional Law to begin Fall of 2027. This is a full-time one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based on performance. The successful candidate will have a 2-2 course load, teaching undergraduates in constitutional law, theories of justice, and related areas, which form part of the Legal Studies major Interdisciplinary Degree in Law, Business, and Society. Both programs sit under the newly established Center for Constitutional Law, housed within the College. This Center works closely with the Boyd Law School in Las Vegas. The candidate will also work with the Executive Director and the Director of the Center for Constitutional Law in the implementation of the Center’s mission. Requirements

  • PhD in political science, law, history, philosophy, or related academic discipline; OR a JD
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching constitutional law or theories of justice & related at the college level or an ABA law school
  • For senior applicants (associate or full professor), a record of scholarly excellence in Constitutional Law, Political Science, Philosophy, or Legal Studies; for other applicants, evidence of scholarly promise in these areas

Responsibilities
