The Department of the History of Art and Architecture (“HAA”) at the University of Oregon is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor specializing in Pre-modern East Asian Art and Architecture for the 2026-27 academic year. The successful candidate will teach seven classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. While applicants specializing in any aspect of the history of art and architecture of East Asia are welcome, preference will be given to candidates who can teach existing courses on Chinese art, Japanese art, or Buddhist art. A teaching or research focus on transcultural exchange or museum practices is especially welcome. Applicants with related interests in design and urban history are also invited to apply.
