JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sociology Department at Pomona College in Claremont, CA invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professorship, beginning fall 2026. The position has a teaching load of five courses for the year: three core courses and two electives. Areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach electives currently not offered by the Claremont Colleges as well as multiple sections of introduction to sociology. This non-tenure-track position is instructional and does not require student advising, faculty service or participation in faculty governance.
