Vision Systems - Test Engineer I
About The Position
Raytheon Intelligence & Space’s Vision Systems Systems Integration and Test Department is seeking an entry-level Test & Integration System Engineer. The Systems Integration and Test organization integrates, verifies, and validates products by assembling systems, exercising them in laboratory or field environments, measuring and analyzing performance, and ensuring products work reliably. The team develops plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, develops test environments, and works with customers. The role supports delivery of EO/IR Focal Plane Array Sensor Systems through integration, verification and validation (IV&V), design verification testing (DVT), and production testing. The engineer develops test plans and conducts product testing for engineering and production builds, uses engineering judgment and technical decision-making, develops requirements and test procedures, integrates new systems, performs system testing, and supports lifecycle requirements for assigned program systems. This is an onsite position in Goleta, California. U.S. citizenship and an active and existing DoD Secret security clearance are required after day one; the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is also required. Relocation assistance is available. The stated salary range is $62,900–$119,700 USD.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Prior relevant experience using basic laboratory equipment in an academic or internship setting, such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, spectrum analyzers, 3D printers, or hobbyist electronics.
- U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; an active and existing DoD Secret clearance is required after day one.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using laboratory equipment for design testing and/or troubleshooting technical issues.
- Programming experience in LabVIEW and/or MATLAB for test automation and/or data analysis.
- Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
- Experience with instrumentation and collecting large data sets, including using scripting or automation for data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support integration, verification and validation (IV&V), design verification testing (DVT), and production testing for delivery of EO/IR Focal Plane Array Sensor Systems.
- Develop test plans and execute product test activities for engineering and production builds.
- Apply sound engineering judgment and technical decision-making within the Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities organization.
- Develop requirements and generate test procedures.
