Vision Systems Engineer

Thermo Fisher Scientific•Logan, UT
•Onsite

About The Position

As part of the Network Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, the Vision Systems Engineer III will help develop and scale next-generation vision inspection capabilities across the manufacturing network. The role serves as a technical leader for offline vision inspection, initially focused on the Matroid platform, and translates emerging technology into practical, scalable manufacturing solutions. It is not a traditional sustaining engineering role; the engineer works across manufacturing, automation, software, and data to develop new capabilities and approaches that can be deployed across multiple sites. The role calls for curiosity, technical versatility, and the ability to turn undefined problems into robust solutions while building knowledge and standards that enable others to succeed. The position is on-site in Logan, Utah. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly, identify where additional capability is needed, and develop solutions when an established playbook does not exist.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, hands-on technical work, and evolving responsibilities.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, technical ownership, and ability to influence and coordinate work across sites and disciplines without formal authority.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.
