About The Position

As a Systems Test Engineer on Zoox's System Behavior Analysis Autonomous team, you will contribute to the development of Zoox's autonomous platform by working across engineering teams. You will help triage and identify root causes for issues found during testing and real-world operations, and produce reports and insights to inform leadership about overall quality and engineering decisions. The role requires the ability to understand complex systems, investigate issues, and communicate risk to support a safe and stable vehicle platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in systems troubleshooting and diagnostics, preferably in the automotive or embedded systems industry.
• Experience with Git, Agile methodologies, and scripting or programming languages, preferably Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
• Passion for autonomous vehicle technology and safety.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Quality Assurance or triage role for autonomous driving.
• Project management experience on programs involving cross-functional partners and offshore teams.
• Experience with change management, analytics, or simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Use data analytics to analyze and diagnose system faults and errors related to hardware, software, and sensor data from on-road testing and system simulation runs.
• Categorize and prioritize issues by severity, priority, and potential safety and performance impact in collaboration with engineering, software, testing, and offshore teams.
• Identify trends in system failures and propose preventative measures to improve system safety and robustness.
• Produce clear and concise reports on system issues, troubleshooting steps, and root cause analysis.
• Define and report operational characteristics of System Behavior Analysis execution, including cost and capacity forecasting.
• Develop tools and workflows to improve the quality and quantity of triage operations, leading by example and taking a hands-on approach.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and implement solutions in dynamic environments.
