This is a seasonal role for our summer season, expected to end no later than September 7th. Strong employees may be offered a year-round role in this or another department at the end of the season. The role requires maintaining composure in emergencies, reporting unsafe situations, and upholding a clean and professional appearance. Daily cleaning tasks are essential to ensure attraction areas are guest-ready. The position involves kindly and professionally communicating with guests and other Hosts, interacting in a way that reflects the mission of “Creating Memories Worth Repeating.” Key responsibilities include completing required documentation, performing daily attraction safety inspections before and after operation, screening riders for requirements, and physically/visually checking attraction restraints. The operator must follow Standard Operating Procedures, immediately report technical difficulties, and monitor rider behavior. Maintaining knowledge of aquarium activities, aquatic life, and special events is crucial for informing guests. The role also requires responsibility for maintaining Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and keeping up with safety trainings. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently, disciplined, and reliable, adhering to Herschend Family Entertainment Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Services Standards, Policies, Procedures, and Safety Protocols.
