About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Virtual Desktop Systems Administrator to join their national intelligence program. This program focuses on engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades, and sustainment of products and services to support global missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of VDI infrastructure, including the impact of storage and network connectivity on performance and user experience, how peripherals affect work within the VDI, and how security integrates without compromising user experience.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass a Poly clearances.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or PhD with 0 years relevant experience).
  • Additional 4 years experience may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
  • Previous experience working as a PC Technician, VDI Administrator or other IT Support roles that provided the experience needed to be successful in the Desktop Systems Admin VDI role.
  • Current CISSP or Security + Certification.
  • US Citizenship is required To hold this clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT I or DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage VDI environments, desktop computers, devices and systems for the program, including installs, configuration for systems software deployments, upgrade and patch management.
  • Analyze and make technical recommendations for desktop configuration selection to achieve fit for purpose for end users.
  • Create, maintain and deploy desktop images.
  • Monitor and maintain file server permissions by performing moves, adds, deletes and modifications of users for smooth and secure operations.
  • Support implementation of network security and redundancy by providing cryptography to network applications; managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure file system integrity.
  • Develop and conduct user training and instructions for program operating systems and applications.
  • Install, configure, test and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
  • Troubleshoot to proactively resolve issues and their root causes and respond to technical requests for support.
  • Assess ongoing user experience and take action to resolve issues or to make enhancements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.
