About The Position

Kentro is hiring for a Remote System Administrator – Virtual Desktop to support the VA ESOM contract. This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours. The pay range for this position is $70,782.40 - $80,225.60 annually. Kentro determines compensation by evaluating current government contracting and commercial market conditions, as well as the role’s specific requirements. Final salary placement within this range will be based on the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, location, and security clearance level, where applicable. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Five or more years supporting enterprise Windows infrastructure or virtual desktop environments.
  • Experience administering enterprise virtual desktop technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure and end-user computing environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell or other automation tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required federal security clearance.
  • US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card)
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop).
  • Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and/or Windows 365 Cloud PC.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, FSLogix, VMware, or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL-based service management.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or federal government environments.
  • Relevant Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, or Azure certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced operational support for enterprise Virtual Desktop Services.
  • Monitor system health, availability, performance, and capacity.
  • Investigate and resolve complex incidents, service requests, and infrastructure issues.
  • Administer and support Citrix and Microsoft virtual desktop environments.
  • Support virtual desktop provisioning, application delivery, user access, and endpoint integration.
  • Perform system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Participate in change management, problem management, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement service improvements and automation.
  • Support security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance and operational support when required.
  • Coordinate with other Endpoint Engineering workstreams to ensure seamless service delivery.
