Video Production Manager

Wellington Management•Boston, MA

About The Position

Wellington Management is seeking a Video Production Manager & Filmmaker to lead video content from concept through final delivery. The role partners with marketing, brand, investment, legal, and compliance stakeholders to create clear, engaging visual stories about complex investment topics while maintaining strong editorial and production standards. It is primarily a hands-on self-shooter position: the manager develops concepts and scripts, films, edits, and finishes their own work rather than routinely handing production to outside vendors. In partnership with brand and marketing leadership, the manager helps establish video strategy and the content calendar and owns projects end to end, including concept development, scripting, filming, editing, and distribution. The position also manages the video budget and vendor selection, oversees junior producers and external production resources, and coordinates legal and compliance approvals. The manager maintains the video asset library, production calendars, and viewership metrics, and keeps up with platform practices and emerging production tools. The successful candidate is a visual storyteller with strong camera and editing skills, a premium editorial eye, and the executive presence to advise and direct senior executives and portfolio managers on camera. The role requires translating technical subject matter into compelling stories, working effectively in a regulated industry, and traveling for on-site shoots and handling physical production tasks. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Film, Communications, Marketing, or a related field and at least 10 years of video production experience, ideally including in-house work at a financial services, professional services, or corporate brand. The base salary range is USD 120,000–225,000. Wellington offers salary, variable compensation, benefits, and a flexible work environment; employees work in the office four days a week and may work remotely one day a week.

  • Expertise in nonlinear editing and post-production, including color grading with DaVinci Resolve or Premiere color tools and sound design/mixing beyond basic audio cleanup.
  • A portfolio or reel demonstrating a premium editorial eye and polish appropriate for a global investment firm’s brand.
  • Executive presence and confident communication; ability to direct C-suite executives and senior portfolio managers, provide tactful feedback, and build trust quickly.
  • Comfort working with senior executives and client-facing subject matter in a regulated industry.
