Video Production Manager

Wellington Management•Boston, MA
•$120,000 - $225,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Wellington Management is seeking a Video Production Manager & Filmmaker to own video content from concept through final cut, partnering closely with marketing, brand, and business stakeholders across the firm. The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller who is equally comfortable behind the camera and in the edit bay, with the judgment and executive presence to work directly with senior firm leaders and portfolio managers on camera. This role requires someone who can translate complex investment subject matter into clear, engaging visual stories without sacrificing depth. On each project, you will help shape the core idea, narrative, and treatment, then own the camera, cut, and cinematic standard through execution. This is primarily a self-shooter role: you will shoot and edit your own work rather than hand production off to outside vendors. This is a unique opportunity to elevate Wellington’s video program. In partnership with brand and marketing leadership, you will help set video strategy and the content calendar while owning projects end to end—from concept and scripting through filming, editing, and distribution. You will collaborate across marketing, brand, investment teams, legal, and compliance to produce content that meets high editorial and production standards and advances awareness and engagement for Wellington.

Requirements

  • A hands-on self-shooter who can own both camera and edit, with character-driven, documentary-style work that finds the human story inside a business context.
  • Strong technical skills in DSLR/cinema camera videography, lighting design, and audio recording, including high-end interview and brand shoots.
  • Expertise in non-linear editing and post-production, including color grading using DaVinci Resolve or Premiere color tools, and sound design/mixing beyond basic audio cleanup.
  • A portfolio or reel demonstrating a premium editorial eye and polish appropriate for a global investment firm’s brand.
  • Executive presence and clear, confident communication; able to direct C-suite executives and senior portfolio managers on set, provide tactful real-time feedback, and earn trust quickly.
  • Comfort working with senior executives and client-facing subject matter in a regulated industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel for on-site shoots and handle physical production tasks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of video production experience, ideally including in-house work at a financial services, professional services, or corporate brand.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with podcast production, motion graphics for data visualization, and drone operation, including FAA Part 107 certification, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own Video Production End to End: Develop concepts and scripts; film with professional camera equipment; and edit, finish, and deliver content in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition, with motion graphics and audio post-production.
  • Guide the Idea and Own the Cut: Partner with brand and marketing leadership to shape each project’s idea, narrative, and treatment, then own the camera, edit, and cinematic standard as a hands-on self-shooter.
  • Direct Senior Executives on Camera: Act as a trusted creative advisor to senior investors and executives, providing media training, real-time coaching, and narrative direction to achieve a polished, professional result.
  • Bring a Premium Editorial Eye: Maintain exceptional visual judgment across cinematography, lighting, composition, pacing, color grading, and sound design to deliver consistently high-quality work that reflects Wellington’s global brand.
  • Set Strategy and Manage the Program: Partner with brand and marketing leadership on video strategy and the content calendar; own the video budget and vendor selection; and manage junior producers, freelancers, and outside agency crews.
  • Manage Compliance and Approvals: Lead signoffs, compliance review, releases, and approvals in coordination with Legal and Compliance, navigating reputational sensitivity independently.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with marketing, brand, and investment teams to translate technical subject matter into clear visual stories, using AI-assisted production tools to increase output without sacrificing quality.
  • Stay Current: Maintain the video asset library, production calendars, and viewership metrics, while staying current on platform best practices, emerging production tools, and new techniques.
