About The Position

Bath Community School is an elementary/middle school serving approximately 128 students from grades K to 8 in Carleton North, New Brunswick. The Vice Principal will assist the Principal in fulfilling duties as outlined in section 28 of the NB Education Act. This role also involves promoting optimal student learning through instructional leadership, fostering a positive and orderly school climate, monitoring student progress, engaging in strategic planning, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. Eligibility for this position, in accordance with Article 47 of the Agreement Between Treasury Board and The New Brunswick Teachers' Federation, is generally restricted to teachers with a continuing contract in a New Brunswick School District who meet the required qualifications, unless no such applications are received. The selection criteria emphasize educational qualifications, competence, efficiency, and suitability, with preference given to candidates holding a continuing contract when these criteria are relatively equal. A teaching assignment may also be a requirement of this position.

Requirements

  • Possess or have previously held a continuing (B) contract in New Brunswick
  • Hold a valid New Brunswick Principal’s Certificate or valid New Brunswick Interim Principal’s Certificate
  • Hold a valid New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate, preferably Certificate VI
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in the public school system
  • Demonstrate written and spoken competence in English
  • Exhibit familiarity and competency with curriculum and programs for the respective grade level(s)
  • Exhibit familiarity and competency in school facility management and communications
