The Enterprise Program is an alternative high school program offered through Anglophone West School District at the Enterprise Centre located in Fredericton. It provides a flexible, student-centred learning environment for Grade 10–12 students who benefit from a non-traditional approach to education, serving an average of 75 students onsite. In addition to the central program, Enterprise supports Satellite Enterprise and Bridge sites in 18 of the District’s 19 high schools. Through its Enterprise and Bridge programs, the initiative supports more than 400 students across ASD-W, focusing on personalized pathways to graduation, life skills development, and successful transitions to post-secondary education, employment, and community engagement. Plans are in place to expand programming to support grade 9 students as well. The principal will fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Principal as outlined in Section 28 of the New Brunswick Education Act. In addition, the principal will promote optimal learning for all students through strong instructional leadership and the establishment of a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment. Under the joint direction of the Director of Schools and the Director of Education Support Services, the Principal will work closely with the Subject Coordinator for ESS – Alternative Programs to monitor student progress and data, support strategic planning, and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders. In accordance with Article 47 of the Agreement Between Treasury Board And The New Brunswick Teachers' Federation, only teachers who have or have had a continuing contract with a School District in the Province of New Brunswick and who meet the required qualifications are eligible for appointment to positions of responsibility, except when no applications from teachers with such qualifications have been received. The basic criteria for appointment to positions of responsibility shall be educational qualifications, competence, efficiency, and suitability. In assessing candidates for a position of responsibility, the Employer shall give consideration to each of these criteria; when the educational qualifications, competence, efficiency, and suitability are relatively equal, preference for the position shall be given to the candidate who has a continuing contract.
