About The Position

This is an ongoing competition for Casual Student Attendants (CUPE 2745 position) with Anglophone West School District. The work of a Student Attendant (SA) is of limited complexity. The SA primarily attends to the physical needs of the learner. This application is for individuals interested in working in the Woodstock Education Centre area (encompassing Woodstock, Florenceville, Perth-Andover, Grand Falls, Edmundston and all areas in between). Whereas the nature of a Student Attendant requires timely deployment to work on short-notice, it is expected that those named to our supply list will live within ASD-W boundaries and a reasonable proximity to selected schools. Requirements

The ability to read and write
The ability to understand and relate to exceptional learners.
A willingness to be trained to support learners with exceptional needs.
Live within ASD-W boundaries and a reasonable proximity to selected schools (or describe in your application how you would meet these expectations).

Assisting learners with transportation.
Physically assisting learners on community visits.
Physically assisting learners at work locations.
Supporting learners entering and leaving the building.
Supporting learners moving around the school.
Assistance with feeding.
Assistance with hygiene.
Assistance with clothing and toileting.
Care of catheterized learners.
Assistance with general supervision of learners.
General support of learners.
