About The Position

Consult with top advisory teams on improving their portfolio construction process, helping them create new models, improve existing models and implement their best investment ideas. Combine quantitative portfolio analysis with qualitative insights to impactfully communicate with clients. Build strong relationships with sales and distribution partners. Must approach the role as a business owner and be accountable for territory rotation and maintaining a full calendar of events and meetings. Present BlackRock thought leadership in settings ranging from individual teams to larger meetings that includes content on portfolio construction theory, risk analysis, trends in advisor portfolios and thematic portfolio ideas. Introduce BlackRock tools and technology that deliver access to components of BlackRock’s Aladdin platform and educate on how to incorporate these into an advisor’s process. Support USWA initiatives to create an investment-centric portfolio construction-centric and consultative selling culture, partnering with sales to socialize best practices across geographies and channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as an Analyst or a related role.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Portfolio theory and portfolio construction; Investment vehicle selection (ETFs, Mutual Funds, SMAs, Private Assets); Multi-asset portfolio construction for retail investment platforms; Crafting memos detailing investment rationale; Speaking at client seminars and due diligence forums both in person and virtually; and Differentiating alpha, factor and index exposures to identify most effective and efficient implementation vehicle.
  • Three (3) years of experience: Financial planning theory and how portfolio design supports goals-based planning; and High net worth portfolio construction, incorporating tax, liquidity and values-based constraints.
  • Two (2) years of experience with: Factor-based risk models and scenario analysis for risk budgeting, portfolio optimization and downside management.
