About The Position

The Vice President of Pharmacy oversees and manages pharmacy operations across Ingles Markets. The role works closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that optimize pharmacy services, performance, and patient care. Responsibilities include oversight of medication procurement and dispensing, third-party contracting, and regulatory compliance, while ensuring pharmacy practices protect patient privacy and meet state and federal requirements. The Vice President collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions that improve efficiency and patient care.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a related field.
Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office products.
Familiarity with office equipment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to perform sufficiently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
Experience in pharmacy operations and leadership.

Responsibilities

Work with the Boards of Pharmacy in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Work with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Participate in NACDS calls.
Review and advise on pharmacy design.
Review and advise on pharmacy accounting issues.
Work with state Medicare programs.
Negotiate pharmacy temporary-agency contracts and ensure compliance.
Supervise and direct subordinates.
Create, plan, and direct the overall vision of the Pharmacy department.
Participate in regulatory discussions and respond to institute guidelines to ensure compliance.
Establish rules, policies, and procedures for store-level pharmacy personnel.
Oversee pharmacy pricing, recruiting and compensation, and computer systems.
Oversee third-party contracting and claims reconciliation.
Serve as compliance chairperson for FWA, HIPAA privacy, and security.
Oversee pharmacy reporting, merchandising, sales, margins, advertising, and vendor negotiations.
Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
Observe all company rules and policies.
