Vice President of Manufacturing Operations

Mai Placement•Paramus, NJ

About The Position

We are seeking a manufacturing leader to build for the future of our operation, not just manage the present. This role will lead a large, complex production organization, focusing on the next 6-18 months across key areas such as capacity, labor, automation, cost, productivity, leadership depth, and scalability. This is a leader-of-leaders position where Directors and Managers will own daily execution, while the VP focuses on growth, systems, accountability, and future-state performance. The distinction between these levels of ownership was central to the hiring manager's calibration.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership of a large or complex manufacturing operation.
  • Experience leading leaders, not just frontline teams.
  • Strong analytical and KPI discipline.
  • Proven success scaling, transforming, or materially improving manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to plan 6–18 months ahead and convert strategy into execution.
  • Strong understanding of production flow, machinery, automation, labor planning, capacity, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong financial judgment around cost, labor, capital, and ROI.
  • Track record of developing leaders and holding teams accountable.
  • A practical, decisive leadership style with enough humility to listen, learn, and adapt.
  • Full-time onsite availability in the New York City Metro Area.

  • Establish and drive KPIs across productivity, throughput, labor efficiency, overtime, quality, cost, and capacity.
  • Increase output without allowing headcount, overtime, cost, or complexity to grow unnecessarily.
  • Identify bottlenecks early and determine whether the solution is process, people, machinery, automation, or capital.
  • Develop and upgrade Directors and Managers so they can run execution independently.
  • Own manufacturing budgets, labor economics, operating cost, and capital priorities.
  • Lead manufacturing, assembly, custom production, finishing, and R&D.
