About The Position

SSAI is seeking a VP of Business Development to develop strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market company’s expertise. We are looking for a proven, high-performing sales professional who can identify, pursue, and win new opportunities, expand market presence, and directly contribute to revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) and a minimum of 15 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business and growing revenue.
  • Deep understanding of federal contracting and acquisition processes.
  • Established network within the DoD and defense community.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a "results-driven, hunter mentality."

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with federal contract vehicles and procurement strategies.
  • Familiarity with SSAI’s core domains: science, engineering, and technology services.
  • Active security clearance (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute business development and sales strategies.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, contracts, and partnerships.
  • Drive the full capture lifecycle, from opportunity identification through proposal and award.
  • Develop and implement win strategies for competitive procurements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align technical capabilities with customer needs.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Represent SSAI at industry events, conferences, and client meeting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and strategic allies to develop and implement business strategies, plans, and operating models.
  • Analyze the government marketplace to maintain current knowledge of client initiatives, programs, priorities, and funding opportunities.
  • Drive growth with new and existing customers by creating, developing, and implementing business solutions.
  • Build, manage, and maintain relationships with prospects, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Assess market opportunities and estimate project demand through market research and analysis of industry and consumer trends.
