About The Position

Generation Hope is a nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure all student parents have the opportunities to succeed and experience economic mobility by engaging education and policy partners to drive systemic change and providing direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming. To date, we have provided over $1.5 million in tuition assistance, supported almost 500 teen parents in college, celebrated more than 270 degrees earned through our program, and built relationships with 30+ two and four-year institutions nationwide. Generation Hope seeks a visionary Chief Architect of our revenue engine. This senior executive role bridges sophisticated long-term strategy with our mission to ensure economic mobility for student parents. You will lead the advancement strategy for a $9M+ organizational budget, focusing on diversifying funding, elevating our brand, and building long-term institutional relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership in nonprofit advancement with a track record of securing significant revenue growth.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Marketing, or Nonprofit Management preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of the nonprofit landscape, specifically education and family-support models.
  • Ability to translate broad vision into concrete, scalable systems and multi-year plans.
  • Exceptional capacity for mentoring and retaining high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven commitment to DEI and the ability to engage authentically with diverse, historically marginalized communities.
  • Strong operational discipline; ability to use data-informed decision-making to ensure fiscal sustainability.
  • High emotional intelligence with a flexible style comfortable navigating organizational transition and change.
  • Superior editorial and speaking skills, with the ability to turn complex impact data into urgent, compelling narratives.
  • Candidates must be located in the Washington DC area by the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Execute a multi-year, data-driven roadmap to diversify revenue across individual, corporate, foundation, and government sectors.
  • Provide high-level oversight for $1M+ multi-year solicitations and establish formal endowment and legacy giving programs.
  • Partner with the National Board to foster a culture of philanthropy and collaborate with the C-Suite to integrate advancement into broader growth strategies.
  • Strategically prepare the CEO for high-capacity donor interactions, defining specific objectives, messaging, and solicitation goals.
  • Serve as "Chief Storyteller" and brand guardian, ensuring all communications position Generation Hope for national thought leadership.
  • Act as an ambassador in high-level funding spaces, cultivating relationships with national partners and stakeholders.
  • Define a data-driven strategic roadmap for conferences to maximize revenue generation from attendance, multi-year sponsorships, and specialized fundraising events. You will oversee the integration of communications strategies to drive marketing outcomes while focusing on building long-term institutional relationships and identifying scalable opportunities for corporate and government investment within the conference framework.
  • Lead the team to foster a culture of operational rigor, ensuring that the internal fundraising infrastructure is as resilient and professional as the organization's external programming.
