About The Position

Apogem Capital operates within the New York Life Investment Management platform of companies, supported by the financial strength and long-term stability of a Fortune 100 mutual organization. The Business Development / Investor Relations (BD/IR) team is responsible for serving the needs of Apogem Capital's existing and prospective client base. The Vice President will play an important role in the firm's Private Credit activities, working closely with investment professionals and other members of the IR team, as well as colleagues across sales, operations, business intelligence, and other functions, to support fundraising, investor relations, and product-related initiatives.

Requirements

  • Six to nine years of progressive experience in investor relations, fundraising/capital formation, product management, client service, or a related role within alternative asset management, investment banking, a placement agent, or another relevant financial institution
  • Demonstrated experience supporting fundraising and institutional investor diligence, with a strong understanding of fundamental investment concepts and the ability to translate complex investment topics into clear, compelling messaging
  • Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills, with sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Professional presence and confidence interacting with clients, consultants, investment professionals, and other senior stakeholders
  • Ability to review team deliverables, provide constructive guidance, and maintain high standards for quality and accuracy
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, along with experience working with CRM systems
  • Collaborative approach with a high level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 qualifications preferred at hire; candidates who have not completed them should be prepared to do so within six months of joining
  • Direct experience within private credit (e.g., manager, placement agent), including familiarity with direct lending strategies, portfolio performance, competitive positioning, and market dynamics
  • Experience reviewing financial analyses, performance calculations, and supporting models used in investor-facing materials

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple fundraising processes, including pipeline activity, investor diligence, key follow-ups, and new client onboarding, while identifying bottlenecks and keeping key deliverables on track
  • Work closely with other members of the BD/IR team and colleagues across investment, sales, legal, compliance, and other functions to coordinate diligence and address fund terms, marketing restrictions, and other fundraising requirements
  • Review key team deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and clarity, providing constructive feedback and guidance where appropriate
  • Help prioritize and coordinate workstreams, follow up on open items, and support timely, high-quality execution across the team
  • Develop and refine presentations, DDQs, RFPs, case studies, data room materials, investor responses, and other fundraising content
  • Translate investment concepts, portfolio developments, performance, and market dynamics into clear and compelling investor-facing messaging
  • Participate in client and consultant meetings, diligence sessions, and other investor interactions, supporting senior relationship owners as appropriate
  • Respond to investor requests, coordinate follow-up, and maintain relevant client and prospect activity within the CRM
  • Analyze investment, portfolio, performance, and fundraising data, and monitor competitor activity, investor sentiment, and broader market trends
  • Use market and investor insights to support product strategy, positioning, fundraising efforts, and new product initiatives
  • Build deep knowledge of Apogem’s Private Credit strategies while developing familiarity with the firm’s broader private markets platform
