About The Position

The Vice President, Corporate Communications will lead the NewAmsterdam Pharma’s (NAP) communications organization and shape a clear, credible, and compelling external narrative as the organization prepares for a potential first commercial launch, pending regulatory approval. This executive will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated communications strategy that advances corporate reputation, supports business objectives, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and reinforces the NewAmsterdam Pharma’s mission across internal and external audiences. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and serving as a senior communications advisor to the senior leadership team, this leader will oversee corporate, product and pipeline, executive, internal, digital, media, and milestone communications. The Vice President will partner closely with leaders across the organization to ensure communications are strategically aligned, accurate, compliant, and ready to support the company’s continued evolution from late-stage development toward potential commercialization. The ideal candidate is an experienced biotechnology communications leader who combines strategic judgment, executive presence, and hands-on execution. This individual must be equally comfortable advising senior leaders in high-stakes situations, developing long-range communications strategy, building a scalable communications function, and delivering flawless execution across multiple stakeholder audiences. At this time, this is an individual contributor role requiring a hands-on leader who will personally develop communications strategies, create content, counsel senior leaders, manage agency partners, and execute communications initiatives while building the foundations for future growth. As NewAmsterdam Pharma continues to grow, the company may assess opportunities to expand internal communications capabilities and resources based on evolving business needs and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive communications leadership experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations, including significant experience leading corporate communications and product or pipeline communications functions
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing communications strategies that support corporate reputation, pipeline advancement, regulatory milestones, commercial readiness, and business objectives
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to CEOs, executive teams, and senior leaders in high-growth or high-stakes biotechnology environments
  • Experience working in a publicly traded or investor-facing life sciences company
  • Deep understanding of the biotechnology industry, drug development process, regulatory environment, healthcare stakeholder landscape, and communications considerations associated with potential product approval and launch
  • Demonstrated success operating in a senior individual contributor capacity, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution while partnering effectively with agencies and cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience managing high-profile communications initiatives, issues-management situations, crisis preparedness, and corporate reputation challenges
  • Strong media relations experience, with established relationships across healthcare, biotechnology, business, and financial media preferred
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific, regulatory, commercial, and business information into clear and compelling narratives
  • Strong executive presence, sound business judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, matrixed biotechnology environment while balancing strategic leadership with operational excellence and hands-on execution

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead an integrated communications strategy encompassing corporate communications, product and pipeline communications, executive communications, internal communications, digital communications, media relations, and reputation management
  • Partner with the senior leadership team to define, strengthen, and consistently articulate the company’s corporate narrative across external and internal stakeholder audiences
  • Serve as a trusted strategic communications advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief People Officer, NAP executive leaders, and other senior leaders on positioning, messaging, thought leadership, media engagement, employee communications, and reputation management
  • Lead communications planning and execution for major corporate milestones, including clinical data presentations, regulatory events, potential approval and launch-readiness milestones, scientific congresses, financing activities, business development activities, and other significant corporate announcements
  • Develop and execute product and pipeline communications strategies that support late-stage development, regulatory readiness, and future commercial objectives
  • Build and protect the company’s reputation as it prepares for a potential first commercial launch, including proactive issues preparedness, crisis communications planning, and rapid response communications
  • Oversee media relations strategy, cultivate relationships with healthcare, biotechnology, business, and financial media, and proactively position the company as a credible voice within the cardiovascular and other therapeutical areas community
  • Lead executive communications programs, including keynote presentations, external speaking engagements, thought leadership initiatives, internal leadership messaging, and strategic presentations
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer to lead internal communications strategies that strengthen employee engagement, reinforce culture, and align employees around corporate priorities, business growth, and commercialization milestones.
  • Oversee the company’s digital communications ecosystem, including the corporate website, social media channels, and emerging communications platforms
  • Establish communications objectives, metrics, and analytics to assess impact, monitor stakeholder engagement, and continuously improve performance
  • Lead and provide strategic oversight to external communications agencies, public relations partners, creative partners, and consultants
  • Serve as a hands-on leader in an individual contributor capacity, leveraging agency partnerships and cross-functional resources to execute communications strategies while building a scalable communications capability for the future
  • Partner closely with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Investor Relations teams to develop, refine and execute communication strategies, messaging, and content that are accurate, compliant, coordinated, and strategically effective
