About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Capital Markets to join Bonaventure. The Vice President of Capital Markets will set the tone for how Bonaventure shows up in the direct investor community by being a builder, a closer and a relationship operator. You will live to build your network both virtually and while traveling to meet our partners wherever they may be. You will get energized by developing durable relationships and treating every investor like the long-term partner that they are. This role will be a direct report to our CFO and offers an exciting opportunity to become a pivotal partner in shaping our equity capital markets strategy. As the Vice President of Capital Markets, you will play a crucial role in securing equity capital for our projects and investment offerings, maintaining relationships with investors, and overseeing the capitalization strategy. This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of the financial markets, exceptional networking skills, and a strong background in both commercial real estate development and alternative commercial real estate investments. Key responsibilities will include keeping a pulse on the Institutional, Family Office, and HNWI marketplace, development and deployment of equity raise strategies, ensuring all prospective and current Bonaventure direct investor relationships are consistently nurtured, and achieving and exceeding equity fundraising goals for the company.

Requirements

  • Must have FINRA Series 63 or 66 and 24 and 7 in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in equity capital markets, investment banking, private equity, or a similar role within the commercial real estate sector.
  • Strong network of relationships with family offices, institutional investors, private equity firms, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of equity financing, capital markets, and investment structures within the real estate industry.
  • Ability to travel domestically in the US on a frequent basis.
  • Excellent financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively to drive our capital raising strategy.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in equity capital markets.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Bonaventure Investment and Development to build product roadmaps and go-to-market equity raise strategies for family offices, UHNW, and institutional investors and converting our vertically integrated real estate expertise into differentiated investment vehicles that compete on alignment, transparency, and access.
  • Lead the firm's equity capital strategy for the private wealth channel by sourcing, structuring, and closing equity raises with family offices, UHNW investors, and their advisors to fund Bonaventure's commercial real estate pipeline, with deal structures tailored to each investor's tax posture, time horizon, and capital allocation preferences.
  • Identify and build relationships with investors: Originate and cultivate relationships with potential equity partners to expand the Bonaventure investor network, nurture relationships, and convert relationships into programmatic, fund, and joint-venture commitments
  • Conduct market research and analysis: Stay abreast of the competitive landscape by consistently reviewing and updating the senior management team on market trends, industry dynamics, and investment opportunities within the commercial real estate sector. Further utilize this research and analysis to identify potential equity investor targets and product offering strategies to evaluate their financial viability.
  • Identify new opportunities where Bonaventure’s unique suite of capabilities intersect with unmet needs in the market, collaboratively produce investment offerings to meet these needs, open distribution channels, and scale capital raising to support these offerings.
  • Execution of comprehensive equity-raise strategies, which includes collaborating with the investments team to develop the core investment thesis, formulating the strategic approach for targeted equity raise initiatives, creating engaging marketing materials, ensuring all the finer details are addressed, and managing effective external communication with investors and target audiences.
  • Serve as one of the main points of contact for direct equity investors, maintaining strong relationships and providing updates on investment performance via the Investor Relations team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, acquisitions, finance, and legal, to align capitalization strategies with project requirements and overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on market trends: Monitor key economic indicators, capital markets, and industry trends to proactively identify opportunities and risks that may impact the firm's capitalization strategies. Present market insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Negotiate and structure equity deals: collaborate with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and external partners to negotiate favorable equity investment terms and structures.
  • Identify business lines and opportunities that may align with capital sources and present strategic capital allocation options aligning with those opportunities to senior leadership.
