About The Position

Friendship Hospital for Animals is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Technician to join its Nephrology team in Washington, D.C. The technician will provide skilled nursing support alongside board-certified Nephrologist Dr. JD Foster and veterinary nephrology residents. This role includes assisting with and managing dialysis sessions, supporting complex internal medicine and renal cases, and communicating with clients and fellow team members. It offers the opportunity to contribute to a program providing dialysis, kidney transplant coordination, and complex renal case management.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of veterinary technician experience.
Strong technical skills, including IV catheterization, phlebotomy, advanced patient monitoring, and anesthesia monitoring.
Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence.

Nice To Haves

Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) strongly preferred.
Veterinary technician experience in specialty medicine.
Experience or interest in nephrology, dialysis, or critical care.

Responsibilities
