About The Position

Red Bluff Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and committed Veterinary Technician to join their growing team. For over 40 years, Red Bluff Animal Hospital has delivered veterinary excellence. This full-time position requires experience in surgical assistance, radiology, dental cleaning, lab tests, and more. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and comfortable interacting with clients. The hospital is looking for a team member to join them in their next exciting phase of growth.

At least two years of recent experience in veterinary practice.
Ability to properly restrain patients.
Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to show empathy towards clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
A commitment to outstanding client service.
Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

Spanish Bilingual is a plus not a must.
Impromed knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Checking patients into rooms, taking patients history, entering current medications and getting TPR independently.
Possessing thorough knowledge of heartworm/flea/tick preventatives as well as vaccinations.
Exhibiting proper patient holding techniques (canine and feline).
Positioning and restraint for digital radiology.
Giving injections and medications.
Providing care and monitoring hospitalized patients.
Placing catheters and drawing blood samples.
Handling surgical equipment and instruments.
Preparing and/or reading lab samples such as heartworm tests, fecal test, urinalysis, cytologies, etc.
Preparing patient history and submitting lab samples to outside labs.
Updating patient data and files on the computer.
