About The Position

Creature Comforts Animal Emergency Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join their team. This new, purpose-built hospital provides advanced tools for emergency care, including a surgical suite, digital radiology, ultrasound, oxygen therapy, and in-house bloodwork. The center is building a culture of open communication, teamwork, and continuous learning within its veterinary team. They aim to extend the trust and compassionate care the Creature Comforts name is known for into urgent situations.

Requirements

Minimum of 2+ years of experience required
Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
Availability to work weekends
Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
Compassionate and calm team-player
Ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills
Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

Nice To Haves

A licensed veterinary technician is highly preferred
ER experience is highly preferred, however it is not required for more experienced applicants

Responsibilities

Animal restraint
Triage of incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
