About The Position

Metropolitan Veterinary Associates is seeking a full-time Specialty Floater Veterinary Technician in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The technician rotates among specialty departments, including surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and emergency, adapting to each department’s protocols. Under the guidance of senior technicians and specialists, this role provides hands-on assistance with patient care, diagnostic workups, and advanced interventions. The position performs technical tasks such as venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and patient record-keeping, while collaborating with teams across specialties and maintaining organization and a commitment to continuous growth. Available schedules are Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, or Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour.

Requirements

Experience in a veterinary setting, whether general practice, specialty, or emergency.
Clinical skills including restraint, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement, and familiarity with anesthesia and patient monitoring.

Responsibilities

Rotate among specialty departments, including surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and emergency, and adapt to each department’s protocols.
