Requirements

Current Veterinary Technician credential (LVT, RVT, or CVT as required by state regulations)
Previous veterinary clinical experience preferred
Strong anesthesia monitoring skills
Experience performing laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing
Proficiency with radiology and sample collection
Strong patient handling and restraint skills
Excellent communication and client education abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and medical procedures
Monitor anesthesia throughout surgical procedures
Prepare patients and equipment for surgery
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients
Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples
Run in-house laboratory testing
Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
Monitor hospitalized patients and provide attentive nursing care
Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions
Prepare examination rooms and treatment areas
Maintain clean, organized treatment and surgical areas
Follow hospital protocols for patient safety and quality care
Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide an exceptional client experience
