About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for their Emergency Veterinary Technician role at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician state license.
  • Proficiency in Anesthesia & Analgesia, including full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Experience with full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy.
  • Skills in diagnostic imaging (radiography/positioning) and in-house lab analysis.
  • Ability to perform critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and manage catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Willingness to take on workflow leadership roles, including leading tech appointments and mentoring.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an emergency veterinary setting.
  • Fear Free certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

  • Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
