About The Position

Darlington Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their team. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, offering a four-day work week with rotating Saturdays and no overnight shifts. The hospital is a well-established three-doctor small animal practice in Woodbridge, Ontario, that focuses on a collaborative culture where RVTs are trusted, respected, and empowered. Services include wellness and preventive care, advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery (including TPLO, laparoscopic, and ophthalmic procedures), comprehensive dentistry with dental radiographs, ultrasound, echocardiography, and advanced diagnostics. Modern equipment includes digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopic equipment, in-house laboratory diagnostics, plasma sterilization, and orthopedic instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) status in Ontario
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring skills
  • Experience with dentistry, radiology, and laboratory diagnostics
  • Excellent patient handling and technical abilities
  • Outstanding communication and client education skills
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and desire to contribute to a supportive team
  • Passion for delivering high-quality veterinary medicine

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing care for patients throughout their visit
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with a variety of surgical procedures
  • Perform dentistry, including dental radiographs
  • Collect and process laboratory samples and diagnostic testing
  • Obtain high-quality radiographs
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Educate and communicate with clients in a compassionate, professional manner
  • Support veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
