About The Position

CityVet is seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) or experienced Veterinary Assistants to join their team. Requirements

At least 18 years of age
At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience
Holds valid State License as Certified Veterinary Technician (for RVT role)
Understanding and ability to properly and safely restrain animals
Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication
Self-starter
Available for weekend work with the Urgent Care Team

Responsibilities

Assisting the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
Preparing clients for surgery by assisting in anesthesia administration.
Properly restraining animals for examinations and treatments.
Supervising unlicensed team members in tasks such as closing skin incisions and lacerations, inducing anesthesia, drawing blood, and collecting lab samples.
Under direct supervision: suturing surgical skin incisions and lacerations, inducing anesthesia, administering rabies vaccines, extracting loose teeth or dental fragments in dogs and cats, and performing euthanasia.
