Requirements

  • Veterinary technician experience or appropriate veterinary technician credentials

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians in providing high-quality, compassionate medical care
  • Assist with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using fear-free and low-stress techniques
  • Anticipate the needs of DVMs to support smooth, efficient patient care
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples as appropriate
  • Administer medications and treatments under veterinarian direction
  • Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia, monitoring, and patient recovery as appropriate to your training and skill level
  • Educate clients about preventive care, treatments, medications, and their pets’ ongoing health needs
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records
  • Collaborate closely with fellow technicians, veterinarians, and support team members
  • Contribute to a positive, uplifting hospital environment
