About The Position

Pacific Heights Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, newly renovated two-doctor practice looking for an experienced or licensed Veterinary Technician to join their fantastic team. They genuinely appreciate the different personalities, perspectives, and unique skills each technician brings to their hospital and want employees to bring theirs. Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician experience and/or appropriate veterinary technician licensure
  • Passion for pets, people, and high-quality veterinary care

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians in providing high-quality, compassionate patient care
  • Assist with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Practice fear-free and low-stress handling techniques to keep patients safe and comfortable
  • Anticipate the needs of DVMs to promote efficient patient care and strong teamwork
  • Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples as appropriate
  • Administer medications and treatments under veterinarian direction
  • Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery as appropriate to your training and skill level
  • Educate clients and communicate veterinary recommendations clearly and compassionately
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ask for help when you need it and readily offer help to your teammates
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive environment built on teamwork and mutual respect
  • Be prepared for the occasional cat rodeo—it is veterinary medicine, after all
