Licensed Veterinary Technician - (LVT) Internal Medicine

Veterinary Medical Center of CNYTown of De Witt, NY
$25 - $38Onsite

About The Position

Our Internal Medicine technicians work closely with our internists in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with complex and often chronic medical conditions. This is an opportunity for an LVT who enjoys challenging cases, advanced diagnostics, anesthesia and procedural nursing, and developing a deeper understanding of internal medicine. Anesthesia and procedural support are important components of this position. Our Internal Medicine technicians assist with procedures requiring sedation and general anesthesia, including endoscopy and other advanced diagnostics. Responsibilities may also include patient assessment and monitoring, sample collection and processing, treatment administration, hospitalized patient care, coordination of diagnostic testing, and collaboration with other specialty and emergency services throughout the hospital. Strong client communication skills are equally important. Internal Medicine clients are often navigating complicated diagnoses, chronic or serious illnesses, significant treatment decisions, and ongoing care. Our technicians play an important role in helping clients understand diagnostic and treatment plans, providing updates and education, answering questions, and helping families navigate the next steps in their pet's care. We are looking for an LVT who can combine strong technical skills with patience, empathy, professionalism, and clear communication.
