About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department in Tukwila, WA! This role involves being a liaison between internists and clients, discussing patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and patient updates. The technician will also assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take X-rays, and obtain lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and is open to General Practice applicants as specialty experience is not required. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 8 am-6 pm, with one holiday per year required. Pay ranges from $26.75 - $51.32/Hr, dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. Competitive shift differential pay is offered for eligible weekend hours, based on a 4-hour minimum.

Requirements

Strong anesthesia skills required.
Strong phlebotomy skills required.
Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
Additional job duties as assigned.
